The Adriatic highway passes through three countries and is mainly located in Croatia. The scenery along the way is stunning. But don’t be distracted by the view, as it’s easier to fall straight into the sea than any other place.

The Killar-Pangi road must be one of the most dangerous and scariest in the world. It’s extremely narrow without any guard rails, and there is fog, snowfalls, heavy rains, falling rocks, landslides… Driving on this road would be a nightmarish experience for any driver.

The road connects Chile and Argentina and is the main transport route between the two countries. Even though it is a scenic route, you may want to keep your eyes on the road considering there are 20 hairpin turns. Speedsters are fond of this way but it’s way too easy to crash here.

The 2412-kilometer long Sichuan-Tibet Highway stretches across 14 high mountains and several turbulent rivers. Its average height is over 4,000 meters. It starts from the eastern edge of Tibetan Plateau and ends in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet.

The Stelvio Pass has an average height of 2,757m (9,045ft), the highest mountain pass in the Eastern Alps. The road can take you from Bormio to Prato Allo Stelvio in a thrilling 40 minutes, but you must be fully concentrated to make sure not to fall off the mountain!

Built in 1930, this road is not used as much as it used to be, but hikers still love traveling along the trail. They take the trip here for fun, but it can also be deadly. More than 200 people have lost their lives here due to the terrible weather conditions and the mudslides.
14. Kabul-Jalalabad Road - Afghanistan
The sketchy road was built 40 years ago, and it’s still in good condition. It connects two cities of Afghanistan, and its traffic is quite heavy. What makes it more dangerous is that there is no speed limit.

This highway is also called the “Highway of Death,” and there are many reasons for that. As it’s one of the busiest highways in Brazil, many criminals hang around the road to attack motorists passing by. Plus, the frequent heavy fog makes it hard to see things.

This highway was closed due to the heavy monsoon and landslides in 2010, and was reopened three months later. It is estimated that 85 percent of the road is still unsafe. Be sure to go through this highway quickly because you have a good chance of getting hit by the falling rocks.

This highway is in Alaska, where the weather is extremely icy and capricious, and it’s in an area that is sparsely populated. It starts at the Elliott Highway and ends at Deadhorse. There are only giant trucks passing through most of the time.

The 19000-mile highway runs through 12 countries and several different climates. Many sections are in the desert, where there is almost nothing. So it’s very bad luck if you have an emergency on the road.
